South Carolina Children’s Book Award

Text Box: Every year, Woodfields Highflyers join all South Carolina students in a special reading project called The South Carolina Book Award Program. At the present time, there are approximately three hundred schools and more than 30,000 students participating in this program. The original book award, The Children’s Book Award, was for students in grades 3-6. Additional levels were added, and with the inclusion of the Picture Book category in 2003, all of our students can now participate. There are 20 Children’s Book Award nominees and 25 Picture Book Award nominees. Students must read at least three books or have three books read to them from each group in order to participate in the voting in February. All the nominee books will have an emblem on the front cover. Have fun reading these great books with your Highflyer.
